Launch open beta for MindQuery AI

π MindQuery AI is now in open beta! Try it at mindquery.ai
I'm both excited to share this little side project I've been pouring my evenings into. It all started with those daily frustrations we all face at work β you know those days when you're absolutely drowning in data from every direction?
For me, it was the constant jumping between PostgreSQL databases, MySQL, BigQuery, and what felt like an endless stream of Excel spreadsheets shared by different teams. Some days, I felt more like a translator than an analyst, switching between query languages just to answer simple questions like "How many active users did we have last month?" It was driving me crazy having to write different queries for each database, copy data into spreadsheets, and create visualizations that everyone could understand.
After one particularly maddening day of translating between SQL dialects and spreadsheet formulas, I thought to myself, "There has to be a better way." That's when the idea for MindQuery AI hit me β a simple tool that would let me ask questions about my data in plain English.
I'm starting super small with just PostgreSQL support. The tool uses AI to turn my questions into optimized SQL queries (way better than the queries I write manually, to be honest). I can ask things like "Show me daily active users for the last month," and it figures out the SQL for me, including all the proper joins and aggregations.
I know it's not much yet β just a proof of concept really. But it's already saving me some time at work, and when a few colleagues peeked over my shoulder and saw what I was working on, they suggested I should share it more widely. So here I am, launching a very modest beta version.
If you're using PostgreSQL and are tired of writing complex queries like I was, I'd love for you to try it out at [website]. Fair warning: there will be bugs, and it's far from perfect. But I'm hoping that with your feedback, we can make it better together. I'm particularly interested in hearing which other data sources you work with and what features would make your life easier.
Thanks for reading my little announcement! And yes, I know there are probably smarter ways to solve this problem, but this is my small attempt at making data analysis a tiny bit easier for folks like me who juggle multiple data sources every day.
